A proper run at the Foxdale to Derbyhaven line

posted 7 Jun 2012, 05:22 by Bill Sands

I visited Les Darbyshire's Foxdale to Derbyhaven line on the 5th June and give Peveril a proper run. It might be a while before she gets another proper run as I don't have anywhere close to home to run her. Anyway I also made a quick video which you can see below. I hope you enjoy it. The weather wasn't great, but she ran well in the rain.

Here are a few photos courtesy of Les Darbyshire.

First steaming

posted 1 Jun 2012, 05:58 by Bill Sands

I couldn't wait any longer! I laid out my 6 yards of flexy track on the patio and raised steam. It's the first time I have run a gas loco and I must say that she is a beauty. Here are some videos of the first steam. A bit dark as the light was fading, and also a bit wobbly. They are done on my camera phone while holding the radio control unit controlling the loco.

Arrival - 31st May 2012

So No.6 Peveril finally arrived this morning at the office in London. There was a lot of interest in the office as to what exactly I meant by "it's a model steam engine" in the parcel. Therefore I had to open it there and then to let everyone see what all the fuss was about. Here's a few photos just after it was extracted.

Pre-production model

Below are the photos that I have found of the pre-production version of the Peveril by Accucraft.

It's worth noting that these photos are of an early engineering sample and the finished model when ready for production will be far more accurate. ( You ain't seen nothing yet!)
