Railway Layout

I'll be putting information about my layout and the various aspects of it here.

I'm hoping to build a few bridges from scratch, and of course the whole layout will be constructed in the garden, so there will be miniature civil engineering projects all the way through to get the line up and running.

If you use the models, please drop me an email at info@thefoxdalerailway.co.uk and let me know about your projects. I'd really like to know how many people find them useful.

Sketchup modelling of 45mm track pieces

posted 13 Oct 2010, 05:52 by Bill Sands

I've been modelling 45mm gauge track pieces in Sketchup for creating a layout for my garden. Here's what I have so far:

Click on the picture on the left to go to the Sketchup model on Google warehouse.

Points, R5 (1219mm to track centre) based on Peco points.

Curve, R5 (1219mm to track centre). Add this piece to the points to make a 22.5deg turn.

Straight, 600mm long

Curve, R5 (1219mm to track centre)
