The Grand Masterplan

So, there is a plan that has already been worked through for the garden. It was done before I became interested in garden railways, and therefore does not include a railway. Since becoming interested in garden railways, I have been faced with the task of trying to incorporate a railway into the garden layout. I don't think it'll be too difficult, and hopefully it lends itself rather nicely to the creation of some rather elegant bridges.

I have posted some thoughts on the G Scale central forums, and it's be quite interesting the responses. I've decided not to change the garden plan much at all, as it seems that the most interesting outcome for the railway will develop from tying to work around what's there!

So, near the house, as you saw from the photos on the last post, there used to be a flower bed just outside the door from the conservatory. In the sketch plan right, you can see the conservatory in the bottom right, and the line along the bottom (where the 940 is written) is the back of the house. The patio will be extended (into the slope of the garden) and all the earth will go onto the lawn to nearly level it. To the left there'll be mostly flower beds, and to the right, above the patio, is a pond.

The top of the garden is mostly for a large "executive shed" or posh workshop, or whatever you want to call it, and a deck to the right. Behind that is basically un-landscaped space, compost, etc.
